Audit service
Someone has to open the theme and change the code.
The app finds what is broken and writes the correction. It does not touch your theme, on purpose, because an app that edits live storefront code without you reading it first is a worse problem than the one it solves. If you would rather not do that part yourself, I do it.
Remediation is quoted separately, after the audit, when both of us know how much there is. Invoiced from Poland.
What you get
A scan of up to 10 page types, then the part a scanner cannot do
Automated checks find roughly a third of WCAG failures. The rest need a person. I go through the paths that cost you money: category, product, cart and checkout entry.
Keyboard and focus, walked through by hand
Every interactive element reached with Tab alone, in the order a user meets it, with the focus visible. Menus, filters, variant pickers and modals are where themes usually fail this.
Every finding with the fix next to it, as a Liquid diff
Not "insufficient contrast on the button". The measured ratio, the file, the line, and the replacement you can paste. Sorted by what is worth doing first.
A draft accessibility statement, and a re-check after you fix
The statement is a legal requirement in its own right, separate from the shop being accessible. One re-check within 30 days is included, so you can prove the fixes landed.
How it runs
- You send the store URL. If it is password protected, a staff account with theme read access.
- I scan, then work through the manual checks and measure contrast on the live theme.
- You get the report as a prioritised list, each item with its fix.
- You apply the fixes, or ask me to quote for applying them.
- One re-check within 30 days confirms what actually changed.
Why this became urgent
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025, transposed country by country. In Germany the BFSG caps the fine at 100,000 EUR where a service is offered without meeting the requirements. Businesses under 10 staff and 2M EUR turnover are outside the service requirements. The separate accessibility statement duty is its own provision, with its own prescribed contents.
Directive 2019/882 Art. 31; BFSG § 37 Abs. 2, § 3 Abs. 3, § 14 with Anlage 3
What this is not
- Not a certification. Nobody can certify a shop as WCAG compliant, and any vendor who offers to is selling you something that does not exist.
- Not legal advice. I report what the shop does and cite the provision. Whether it puts you in scope is a question for a lawyer.
- Not an overlay. No widget is installed. The fixes are changes to your theme code, which is the only kind that survives a real audit.
Book the audit
Write with your store URL and I will tell you within a day whether an audit is worth it for you at all. Sometimes the honest answer is that three fixes would do it, and then I say that.
